Here’s the future of gaming consoles

Maybe PS5 doesn’t have enough space to let you install all of the exclusive games but it is still full of incredible features. The train of the next-gen games just have started and we’re receiving games which are using Adaptive Triggers, immersive 3D audio and fast SSD. The PS5 is at forefront of this generation and hope to be continued as well as the start.

The PS5 was launched in Us on November 12th and on November 19th in other parts of the world. The standard PS5, which includes a 4k Blu-ray, cost 499$ while buying Digital Edition saves a hundred bucks for you. (you can still buy console with the same price on US but Sony’s decided to increase the console’s price on 25th August 2022)

Weird design

It’s been discussed to death on Twitter and Reddit and PS5 is a gigantic piece of digital machinery. Sony’s 15.4 x 10.2 x 4.1 –inch console is taller than all of the gaming consoles and dwarfs them. It’s much bigger than its next-gen rivals, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and make them look like children’s toy. This gargantuan design lets PS5 to pump out easily and stay cool and quiet while rendering high-graphical games.

Official new suits

Since PS5’s release day, people start to customize console’s plates and after that a lot of fake plates were selling on stores. On December 13 2021, Sony announced new side panels for PS5, which suit console to your gaming room.

Wealthy console in ports

The PS5 has fairly standard arrays of modern ports. You have a High Speed USB Type-A port in front as well as a USB Type-C SuperSpeed port. With these ports you won’t have a problem working with modern accessories and storage drives.  In the back you’ll find two SuperSpeed USB-A ports, a 2.1 HDMI, an Ethernet jack and an AC adapter.

Shortage in storage

If you want to expand the PS5’s built-in 825GB of SSD storage, there’s a PCle 4.0 M.2 expansion slot and you can add an internal SSD and play games same as on the initial storage (you can run PS5 games on extra SSD if it is speedy enough and has Sony’s requirements). Western Digital SN850 and Samsung 980 Pro are our suggestions and also you can wait for Sony’s upcoming Nextorage M.2 NVMe SSD.

Menu in your hand

Unlike Microsoft, Sony has changed console’s menu and when you switch from PS4 to PS5, you can feel seven years difference. Menu is completely customizable and won’t go to trophies instead of turning off the console!

User interface also had some other improvements. The UI gives you recommended options and try to simulate Xbox’s quick resume with dropping you back into game at the mission or in a related area within a second.

Not as powerful as the rival!

With a powerful custom 8-core AMD Zen 2 processor, The PS5 has 10.3 teraflops of graphical power and a turbo custom SSD and can run the games as well as a gaming PC. This amount of power let you run the games in different modes: 1. The resolution mode which run the game at native 4K with 30 or 60 FPS and usually with ray-tracing 2. The performance mode emphasize on frame rate and let you run the games smoother.

Your experience will likely improve in the future and as it was promised they add variable refresh rate (VRR) support for PS5. As we mentioned consoles’ SSD, it let you to run the games much faster than previous consoles. In addition of running the games faster, it provides some virtual RAM for your console and switching from a universe to a different one in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart won’t be a problem.

Say hello to darling 3D audio

PS5 can also deliver 3D audio for supported games and allow you to hear sound with greater directionality than standard stereo. Luckily this feature process in console and you don’t have any restriction in choosing headset or sound bar. This feature will be the favorite of online players.

Backward

Thanks to the nice PS4’s software design you can run most of the PS4 games on your new console without any problem and experience them more modern than before. Due to Xbox Game Pass, Sony completely changed its subscription services and if you pay enough, PS1’s and PS2’s classic games will be installable on your console. For PS3’s game your Internet must be fast enough for streaming.

And…

The PlayStation 5 is already doing everything right. Sony gambled on a complete hardware, UI feature and appearance redesign and now they have unlocked next-generation of gaming. Wave goodbye to GTA V’s and RDR 2’s load screens and say hello to more interaction with games. We have not seen all of PS5 features yet and we expect a future for Sony’s 5th console.
